Astro Aluminum Treating Company is a commercial treater of aluminum alloys. We process customer-furnished material in accordance with industry and customer specifications.
 
Astro was founded in 1967. We are proud to be fully owned and operated by U.S. Interests. Our management team has been working together for more than 20 years. Including our operations manager and  Production Manager, this team has more than 140 years of aluminum heat-treating experience.
 
Astro has heat-treated parts for every major aircraft program during this time.           

Quality
 
Astro Aluminum Treating's Quality System is based upon AS 9100B. We are responsive to customer needs, and work to promptly satisfy our customers' requirements.
 
We currently have eleven Rockwell hardness testers and two Brinell testers for verification of the acceptability of heat treatments performed. We also have seven conductivity meters for eddy current testing. In most cases, the combination of hardness and eddy current test results

There are three quenchant types available at Astro. Hot water quenching (140-160F) is used for forgings. Ambient (room temperature) water is also available. We have several quench tanks containing glycol/water solutions in various concentrations. Glycol quenching is normally performed, when allowed by specification, on thin, delicate parts.
